The Guildhall houses a display of Winchester’s historic collection of civic silver dating back to 1660, including the Great Mace and Civic Sword.
Some of the city’s paintings are also on public view. A free guide to the paintings on display is available.
More about the artworks on display can be found on Winchester Museums Collections Online
On the first floor of the Guildhall there is a small exhibition of ephemera marking the life of Bapsybanoo (Bapsy) Pavry, the Marchioness of Winchester, who was a generous supporter of the city.
You can also see changing displays of objects from the collections in the first floor display case.
The current display commemorates the 200th anniversary of 1815 - the Battle of Waterloo, and is a Hampshire's Hidden Treasures display from Hampshire Cultural Trust.
