Functions and meetings

If you’re looking for an unusual setting for your special event, seminar or meeting, the Red House Museum and beautiful walled Gardens provide a unique, atmospheric venue.

Just a few minutes from Christchurch’s High Street and Priory Church, with excellent transport links and nearby parking, the Red House Museum & Gardens provide the perfect solution, with a variety of spaces available.

To date, we have hosted garden parties, corporate evenings, book launches, promotional filming and more and our friendly on site team look forward to helping ensure that your event is a success too.

The whole Museum can be booked for events, or the education/meeting room can be booked separately.

For a whole museum booking, guests/delegates will have access to all the public spaces, but the following spaces are available for seated events if required

Gallery and Garden

Main exhibition Gallery

  • Depending on the current exhibition, the Gallery seats up to 50 delegates.
  • For stand up receptions, the maximum capacity at any one time is 120 in
    the Main Gallery area, although larger numbers may be accommodated through
    a timed entry system agreed in advance with the Museum, or together with the
    use of the garden in fine weather.

Garden

  • A peaceful space to enjoy or think, away from the hectic pace of life, with enough space for separate break-out areas.
  • The Gardens can also be booked for receptions and photoshoots. 
  • We can provide gazebos, tables and chairs at an additional cost.

 

 

Sue Wickham room

  • Holds up to 30 delegates seated theatre style, or 10 to16 at tables

Equipment

We offer the following equipment, free of charge, to support your meeting/seminar etc.

  • Large wall-mounted flat screen, DVD player & Wall mounted 40" TV
  • Laptop and data projector
  • Flip chart (plus pad and pens)
  • Water glasses, jugs etc

Refreshments and Catering

The museum can also provide a small catering service such as:

  • Tea and coffee only - £1.20 per head
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits - £1.60 per head
  • Mineral water 330ml - £1
  • Jug of fruit juice per litre - £2.65.
  • Wine 187cl bottle - £4

Please note any bookings with catering or refreshments incur an additional VAT charge for the entire booking.
