Archaeology Evenings- 12th April

Wednesday 10th May (postponed from the 12th April) Dr Michael Walsh: Excavations on the 17th century warship, the London 

On 7th March 1665, a massive explosion ripped through the warship, London, killing all but 24 of the c 325 personnel on board.  The remains of the ship are lying in two sections; both sites were designated in 2008. Cotswold Archaeology has been investigating the site since 2013 including desk-based assessments, geophysical surveys and underwater excavations. This talk will present the fascinating history of the ship and some of the results of our investigations.    

 

All talks start at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7:15pm. Refreshments included.
