Britpop favourites My Life Story released three successful albums, and six top forty singles in the 1990s.

Combining playful, evocative lyrics with memorable melodies, My Life Story signed to Parlophone in 1996, where the band released the album "The Golden Mile" which spawned hit singles "Sparkle", "12 Reasons Why I Love Her", "The King of Kissingdom", "Strumpet" and "Duchess", as well as re-releasing a remastered version of 1995 album "Mornington Crescent". In 2000 a third album "Joined Up Talking" was released

After enjoying early dates headlining over Oasis, My Life Story went on to tour with Blur and Pulp, among many others, at the height of the Britpop era. My Life Story were firm favourites on the live scene playing Glastonbury's Pyramid stage and Reading Festival four times. Collaborations include Morrissey, Marc Almond and The Wonder Stuff

The band’s current quintet lineup is led by frontman and songwriter Jake Shillingford, with a distinct rockier sound.

In 2019 My Life Story released "World Citizen", their first new studio album in nineteen years. Three new singles in 2023 "Numb, Numb, Numb", "I'm A God" and "Tits & Attitude" show they have lost none of the flair that propelled them to success in the 90s. The band's fifth studio album, ‘Loving You Is Killing Me’, is released on Feb 9th 2024

My Life Story's current line up features Jake Shillingford (vocals), Nick Evans (guitar), Chris Hardwick (drums), Jack Hosgood (bass) and Aimee Smith (keys).
